Software Engineer

Medsphere is looking for a web developer with experience in Visual Studio 8.0, C#, ASP.NET, VB6 and VB.NET.  The developer should be comfortable with building user friendly, visually pleasing GUI for medical staff.  Knowledge in other environments will aid the developer in converting from older technologies to ASP.NET.  Source control experience in Surround and Subversion are a plus.  Ability to assist other developers in transitioning to ASP.NET would also be a valuable asset.  Must be self-motivated in order to work in an environment where tasks are assigned and results expected without a lot of supervisory interference.  Experience with medical environment or terminology would be extremely helpful.

Qualifications

Quality Test Automation Engineer

Support Medsphere Systems Corporation's Quality Assurance team to ensure electronic healthcare record system applications meet quality control standards. Perform all duties in accordance with Medsphere Systems Corporation company policies and procedures and all state and federal regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Establish and maintain automation framework for developing test scripts in Windows to validate applications written in a Linux environment.

  • Determine feasibility of creating test plans and test cases against written business requirements, functional specifications, and other manual test procedure documents.
  • Author automated data driven test scripts based on written manual test scripts resulting from risk assessment and requirements prioritization. This will require knowledge of Perl and Python for Linux and Testing Complete for Windows.
  • Conduct integration, functional acceptance, and regression testing using black box or white box testing approach as necessary.
  • Routinely inform functional and project managers by providing audit reports indicating the results of test execution and product stability including recommendations concerning the release of the product.
  • Manage project tasks, schedules, scope change and deadlines to eliminate constraints and ensure that company needs are met.

Clinical Systems Analyst

The Clinical Systems Analyst is a key provider in the implementation, training, and support of the OpenVista enterprise electronic health record system. The Clinical Systems Analyst candidate should possess expert knowledge of and significant experience in nursing care, electronic health record, bar code medication administration, general healthcare operations and regulatory environment of modern healthcare organizations. This knowledge and expertise is utilized in the comprehensive implementation approach of an electronic health record. Particular skills and experience in the clinical transformation process required for successful adoption of information technology is useful. The Clinical Systems Analyst will report directly to the Senior Director of Client Services.

Summary of essential job functions

  • Deployment
    • Participate in on-site Enterprise Assessments in order to incorporate clinical transformation policy and procedure requirements into the standardized Medsphere implementation methodology.
    • Assist with the planning, development, and coordination of customer implementation plans with particular emphasis on nursing processes, including workflow and bar code medication administration, in coordination with Medsphere project managers and client partners.
  • Training
    • Participate in all aspects of customer training, including program development designed specifically to train and educate nursing staff on optimal use of OpenVista EHR.
    • Participate in all aspects of clinical consultant training, including program development, designed specifically to train and educate the clinicians to function independently as Medsphere certified clinical consultants.
    • Function as the Mentor to newly hired/less experienced MSC staff members as well as the client partners to help them function proficiently and independently. Tis includes providing comprehensive OpenVista training at Medsphere University.
  • Development
    • Develop clinical content that helps to drive improvements in clinical outcomes based on guidelines from JCAHO, IHI, CMS and other regulatory and educational groups.
  • Ecosystem
    • Drive clinical customers to participate in collaborative workgroups to promote the automation of established clinical guidelines
  • Support
    • Provide Second and Third Tier Support to client sites as referred by Customer Care for a variety of system and process related issues as well as troubleshooting and problem analysis.
    • Support sales process as needed, including helping clients comprehend the product capacity, process of product implementation, and potential for clinical transformation.
    • Promotes improved healthcare outcomes through correct utilization of information technology’s ability to measure, monitor, and report information as it relates to improved outcomes.

Requirements

  • Strong preference for Registered Nurse, BSN or BS in related field required, MSN or MS in related field is preferred.
  • Vista/CPRS experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years experience implementing clinical documentation, CPOE, and bar code medication administration systems.
  • Knowledge of nursing practice in complex healthcare systems across the continuum of care for a diverse population of patients.
  • Skill in oral and written presentation including the skill to address in diverse executive, management, and team related meetings.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Project and Visio is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites to perform work.

Clinical Operations, RN Liaison

Reporting to the Vice-President of Sales, this role will be contributing with a team of clinicians providing Sales and Marketing support as well as upstream product feedback. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator, able to lead clinical presentations and discussions to facilitate the sales process, to lead customers and prospective customers through detailed clinical workflow scenarios, and to participate in the product and process improvement as an integral part of the Sales Support Team. This role will also include the coordination of training of new members of the Sales and Marketing Team as well as the advanced training of current team members.

Duties and Responsibilities

I. Clinical Support for Pre-Sales
  • Present/demonstrate the nursing-focused applications to prospective customers, existing customers, and the consulting community
  • Assist in the sales process by securing the endorsement of company solutions from key members of the customer’s nursing and clinical staff, as well as their clinical leadership
  • Workflow analysis of current state nursing process with prospective customers as well as assessing needs in relation to our clinical product offering
  • Benefits-focused presentations detailing the value of our solutions in the context of clinical transformation
  • Clinically relevant Presentation script writing and workflow design for knowledge transfer
  • Develop strong clinical relationships with senior and mid level directors with all prospects
